As U.S. forces continue the battle of Baghdad, support for the war in Iraq continues to rise.

The latest Washington Post-ABC News Poll shows that 77 percent of Americans say they support the decision to go to war, a figure that has increased as news of the war turned positive. Just 16 percent say they oppose having gone to war.

I hope so too!

As far as the poll is concerned - hindsight is always better than foresight! If it wasn't going as well, those numbers would be heading south.

I'm not sure. I think we have a couple more weeks of fighting the diehards. My opinion it might be over with my May 1st or 15th.

I hope it's that short Ticka and Wx - it seems like it will be, but I don't want to get my hopes up!

I also think that Operation Iraqi Freedom is almost over. Even nearly a month from now is considered almost. It has been said a lot in the last three weeks, that this has been the quickest military campaign of all time. At approximately 9:30 PM Eastern Time it will be exactly 21 days since the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The Washington Post-ABC News Poll indicating 77 percent of Americans say they support the decision to go to war and 16 percent say they oppose having gone to war, means 7 percent are either undecided or have no opinion. Quite high percentage, which is a good thing. The situation with this war would be much worse with a lower number of Americans thinking we should be over there.

i heard about another poll taken in the U.S and it was about who thought Bush was a strong leader and 70% of Americans said Bush was a strong leader. V-good.

i dunno badhdad may be a little tougher than anticipated. after killing two al jazeera reporters with a missile in baghdad, and civilian bombing stories running in almost every nation...its hard for the iraqi's there to distinguish btw helping or conquering. hopefully these civilian deaths will stop. I really think ground forces are best right now, b/c we can't really go around bombing when we get an inkling that saddam may be someplace.

I am not suprised however that support has gone up. When we have people 18-21 years of age fighting...they deserve our support.
