COLUMBUS, Ohio -- An April Fool's Day joke backfired on a clothing store clerk after she called her manager at home and said the store was being robbed at gunpoint.
When Sitra Walker, 22, called back a few minutes later to shout, "April fools!" her manager had already dialed 911.
Four police cruisers raced to the store.
Police weren't laughing when they learned it was a prank.
Walker was arrested for inducing panic, a first-degree misdemeanor punishable by six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
She also was fired.
The manager, Summer Hunt, said Walker had worked at the store for about two weeks.

What a dumb prank to play. I love a good April Fools joke, but this was extreme. This clerk deserved what she got IMO.

You wonder what people like that store clerk are thinking. Oh that's right - they aren't thinking at all.

My college roommate had a saying for people who are so stupid that they can't think of the consequences: "No Brain, No Pain."

On April Fool's Day a couple of days ago, a guy had parked his car in front of a convenience store about 9:30 am, and when he came back out from the store, his car was gone. He had called the police after the store told him that the car wasn't towed away.
Come to find out, his friends hid the car behind the car wash as an April Fool's Joke, which I'm sure the guy was relieved but at the same time, if I was that guy, a couple of friends (would be ex-friends) would have a serious @$$ whooping to go with their fries.
Jokes are good for the soul and humor is good, but it also cannot cross the line of good judgment, either.
