What a Surprise...NOT!

Guess what I heard on CNN yesterday. 26% of supposed cell phone calls are fake: people pretending to be talking to someone on the other end!

Somehow this doesn't surprise me. I'm in the minority who doesn't even have a cell. I just don't think they're as necessary as we've been made to think. Sometimes it's good to be unreachable. When I go to the beach, I don't want to be bothered by a call. And if I ever need to make a call, I'll just borrow someone else's cell!

Like we don't have enough to occupy our time. Some people just need to get a life

I feel stupid enough being seen looking like I'm talking to myself while driving down the road with my hands-free set and mike on the top of the windshield.

Wonder if the imaginary friends ever return the calls?

I'm with you on this one. I don't think cells are a necessity either. Nor do I want someone bothering me all the time. But I did break down 3 times in one semester on my way to school. Each time I had to wait on a good samaritan, which can be scary. So I gave in and bought a prepaid phone, which is only used for emergencies.

I use dial up for Net access and am a spotter so I do have a cell phone but I never bring it with me when I go shopping or on a non spotting/chasing trip.
