Well after a week of moving, we are functioning at our new house. We are located in "Historic" Muncy, PA, renting a house that was built in the 1860's. It's a pretty good house, except the electrical system is a little on the light side.

This is a pretty neat little town. Probably about 1,500 to 2,000 population. Our kids will walk to school. The downtown is 1 block away from our house and there's some shops, restaurants, a dollar store, banks, a pizza joint, a chinese restaurant, a bicycle shop, a public swimming pool, a library, the post office, a convenience store, playgrounds, even a one-screen movie theater all within a short walking distance. We are 5 minutes away from our daughter and grandson, and my work is 15 miles by Interstate from here. We are also right across the street from the borough building and the police station. I'd say that this town hasn't changed much since many years ago.

We have all the furniture set up, the kitchen is up and running, as well as the computers (of course). Cable TV and internet is here.

There's still a lot of unpacking to do. Our sons made a couple of new friends already.

This definitely seems to be a nice quiet little town. I think I'll like it here.

The folks and I are still wondering what to do w/ our disarray of boxes galore...countless items from my folks' packratiness from 43 years of marriage. It's like a nightmare in this limited space of a townhouse storage-wise at times!

We have another load of items in a storage facility, too.

Speaking of Muncy...there's also a Muncie, IN...not too far from where my paternal grandfather and some aunts, uncle and cousins live.

Glad to hear you're settling in. Sounds like a nice little town! Commute sounds great too. lol, of course you have the internet all set up and going. That was a priority box, no doubt.

All that in Muncy! Wow, we have a Quik Chek, bank, post office, bicycle shop, two used car dealers, a VFW and Moose in this village of about 500. Oh, fire company and EMS. That's about it--oh, four churches and a dentist.

My house is from 1880, Coriolis. The wiring was completely redone before I got it, big selling point. It still has the old lathe and plaster walls in four rooms and the hallway upstairs but all new appliances in the kitchen.

Gotta love these small towns, USA.

You guys should see my small down of Catasauqua - The Million Dollar Town.

I got convienience stores, gas stations, public pool, gas stations, police, fire, and well that's about it.

Ed, I've always wanted to live in one of those older homes that have so much character. Your new town sounds pretty terrific too. Congrats and best wishes.

Life has a way of opening new doors. You forced some of them to be right there in front of you. Let's hope the experience leads to some fulfillment and happiness....and great new friends for your sons.
