Our local Newspaper reported today that 94 illegals were caught on Fort Huachuca (home to the US Army's Military Intelligence Center and School, the DOD UAV Training Center and several important testing agencies) this past weekEND. In general, only about 1/3 of all illegals are caught. Earlier, three illegals carjacked a car at gunpoint in front of a Circle K in Sierra Vista in broad daylight-fortunately, the carjackers were caught on I-10 headed towards Tucson. The Feds still won't divulge any information about OTM (Other Than Mexican) illegals that have been caught.

JQ, you have NO idea how many illegals enter this country via Az, it's somewhere between 1000-2000 per DAY! They are pushing our hospital systems here in the state into near total collapse, the health system from last report was in the hole some 117 MILLION bucks JUST from the flood of illegals!

You have no idea how angry this makes me. I am an immigrant, trying to do my utmost to stay here legally. I get so angry when people do this illegally!!!! It makes things so much harder for us who are doing it the right way.
You are right Dennis it is unfair to burden state departments if you do not pay tax and pay into the system.
I do feel for those who come here to make a life for themselves though, I know how it feels to need to be away from a country to carry on a normal life. But... There is a right way and a wrong way to do things.

AMEN Amanzi, not only is the states health care system near total collapse, the states wealfare system, food stamps etc. is in the same shape. PLEASE don't get me wrong, I KNOW these ppl are trying to escape one of the most poverist (sp) counties in the world BUT.....as you said, there are legal ways of doing so. We USE to spend a LOT of time in Mexico, haven't gone back since 9/11, I've seen this with my own eyes, kids, 4-12 years old begging for money, food, etc and it breaks my heart, the average income of these ppl is about $7 per DAY and the prices there are just as high if not HIGHER than the US, sad situation indeed. It's a problem that grows by leaps and bounds every single day and gets worse with each passing minute.

This is unsettling to me because last night, I dreamt that 2 young males attempted to carjack me at knifepoint. However, in the dream as well, somewhere along the line I had a 17 shot Beretta in the car with me (and this dream took place just in front of the CHS AFB) ... Needless to say, one of them threatened me with a knife and threatened to cut my arm up and kill me.
When that gun was seen by the perpetrators, one hauled it, and the other tried to cut me. But he ended up with a gunshot wound.
Anyways, this was ONLY A DREAM that I had this morning. I had to share my dream seeing this thread this morning.

Well, in This Case

the carjacker had a .357 Magnum (suggesting that he was not one of your poverty stricken illegals). It's not just the numbers but the fact that they are not just from Mexico but from most anyplace in the World (we know for an absolute fact that there's at least one Iranian here because he left his diary behind on a ranch near here). The reason I post these messages about what's happening down here is so that SOMEONE in the Country will know of the problem since the Feds steadfastly refuse to enlighten the American population about the sorry security along our Borders. Dennis' estimate of 1-2000 per day crossing over is probably based upon the actual numbers apprehended. Estimates are that those numbers are anywhere from 1/3 to 1/5 of the actual number crossing over so we are talking about over a million people entering the US illegally across the Mexican border of which we catch about 300,000 or so. One can only wonder how many of these are people who wish us evil.

They defintely need to improve security and enforecement in that area. I also think the penalties should be increased and fines given to those businesses that hire illegal aliens. It is a shame it is so hard for you Amanzi because you came here the right way and have to fight to stay.. :o
