how come its ok if actor fred thompson speaks out on the war (he is no longer a senator after all) but it is not ok for other actors to speak out if the oppose the war?
IMO it is ok either way. i may not agree with them but they have the right to speak out.
too often i have heard people saying the actors should keep their mouths shut.
well if that holds true for someone speaking against the war, then it surely holds true for those speaking for it.

You can't have it both ways, I agree with that. That being said, we can be for or against the war, but behind the President and our troops. We Cannot be for our troops and against our President though, since the logic wouldn't follow. I do however find it offensive when actors make money portraying war heroes in the movies, then come down on our President and troops. That is sending a message to our youth that is confusing. But, I suppose life is full of contradictions

Bravo David!!!!
I read a quote in the paper from Teddy Roosevelt that said something to the effect that it is patriotic (and essential) that you support your country and it is also patriotic to question your government.
