Market for 'My Life'
Customers lined up in Washington and New York to buy President Clinton's new autobiography, and the publisher claimed record sales. But bookstores across the country seemed not to be sharing in the demand. The San Francisco Examiner reported only a "smattering of people" in bookstores there, while one Palm Beach, Fla., bookseller complained about what he called a "real slow day." Meanwhile, bookstores in Houston, Virginia Beach, Tucson, San Antonio, Sacramento, Cincinnati and elsewhere reported modest sales of "My Life" — and no lines.

We saw stacks of his book at our local Kroger's here in Cincinnati. My youngest daughter Laura saw as we walked by and said - "look at THAT, Clinton's book" and laughed - a lady nearby chuckled too. My response - "yeah, we already know his story"......I'm not buying it or checking it out from the library!

Saw a bunch of the books at the book store in the mall. I asked the lady if the book was selling and she said "not yet, it is still early" I laughed and said okay thanks.

Must be a liberal. The book is going to sell the most EARLY. It's a book.

j - back when Michael Jackson was on numerous magazine covers, a few months ago, I would cover up his mug with other magazines. Couldn't stand to look at his face. LOL

I'd only buy it if we were in a situation where toilet paper was unavailable.

The last time I wanted a book that was scheduled to have high demand.. it was in high demand..

Last year right before my birthday.. I really wanted a copy of "I am a soldier too.. the Jessica Lynch story"..

I got it.. But I had to go back and forth to Target 4 TIMES before my neighbor finally was able to buy it for me for my birthday

I saw the book displayed at Kroger as well. As soon as I walked in the door, there was a table full of them with a huge 40% off suggested retail sign...certainly not a line. lol

I wouldn't spend a dime on the book.
