To be very BLUNT here folks, all HOLY HE** has broke loose, we have "7" active wildfires going ALL at once
ALL lightning caused, it's literally like HE** out there.....PLEASE say a PRAYER for us, it's like walking into the GATES of HADES!

I could see the thunderstorms up your way Dennis...figured most of them were "dry." That's the worst for causing lightning ignited fires.
I heard today that in part of Montana where they log for 2 x 4 lumber, the harvested timber is actually DRIER than kiln dried lumber sent to places like Home Depot.
Not a good sign. If we're going to have lightning triggered fires...let's at least have some rains to go with them!!!

If I am correct, most , if not all of these storms are very high based. Not only does that lead to very little moisture, but it usually produces another pain: winds to fan the fire.
Bad equation: THUNDERSTORM + NO RAIN + WINDS = TROUBLE

the boomers down here in Cochise County weren't as high based or dry as elsewhere as some put down some decent rain and the one lightning start in the Huachucas was tagged at an acre because it couldn't get a run going because of the rain and humidity.

A quick check in....it's 0440 MST, came home to change uniforms, get a *hot meal* and then it's back out! We have "2" more starts.....also lightning caused, THANKFULLY 8 of them are at or LESS than 2 acres each in size HOWEVER.......there's one, the John Hall Fire, approx 8 miles NE of the junction of US 60 and State Highway 73 that's becoming a *worry* for firefighters......it's burning on the opposite side of US 60...the scene of the Rodeo Chediski Fire, there is NUTHIN' in it's way to STOP it, dog hair thickets of Shrub Oak, Shaggy bark Cedar, Pinyon Pines....then 2.7 miles N are overgrown Ponderosa Pine forests. As the crow flies, it's 18.4 miles south of Pinetop, Lakeside...the forecast for today is "More Dry Lightning" with winds out of the SW @ 10-15 MPH. Thanks for your prayers and concerns.....I can honestly say, I'm a *little* afraid, the John Hall Fire has the potential of becoming the "Fire that destroyed Pinetop!"

Good Evening...and it IS indeed, a GOOD EVENING! We've been released from duty (for the time being!) The John Hall Fire is now 75% contained, burning into last years Kinshiba Fire area....final result, NO FUELS to burn
We still have NUMEROUS, NUMEROUS fires burning state wide now, 2 N-NE of Phoenix, 3 to the S-SW of us and lightning is striking ALL around, DRY lightning
but as with you folks in Tornado Alley, the Gulf Coast, the East Coast, you STAY prepared for the worst case scenario and deal with it
right Harry?

WELL....here we go AGAIN! We have 4 NEW fires in JUST the past HOUR, that's NOT counting the 3 OTHER fires N of Phoenix, near Payson.....I'll be SOOOOOOOOOO glad when this dry lightning is OVER! Haven't been dispatched out yet, the fires are about 35 miles south of me but, with these winds we are having and a HUGE build up to my NE.....WHO KNOWS!
