I for one am a total Miracle Whip fan. I'll eat mayonaise, IF I HAVE TO... but my is always Miracle Whip. I'll eat it with my tuna fish, egg sanwiches, macaroni salad, ham and cheese sandwitches etc.

Mayo...and it's gotta be Hellmann's/Bestfoods! (same maker, different parts of the country)

OMG, I hate the taste of M. Whip! I'm not a big fan of mayo either. I put very little mayo in my tuna/chicken salads. Just enough to hold it together. In fact I've used plain yogurt in chicken salads and it's pretty good (I was out of mayo!).

I think Miracle Whip has such a distictive taste that's very strong, you either like or you don't.

Plain yogurt? I'll have to try that. Does it work with tuna also or just chicken?

Shawn - I used yogurt in a pinch. It tasted pretty good considering. Different though from mayo.

Jim and Nina visited NYC last Fall. They had dinner in the Village at an all natural/health type restaurant. He ordered chicken salad. I've been hearing about this salad for months now! It was tossed with olive oil, no mayo. Had pine nuts, raw veggies (forget which ones), etc. They toasted pita, cut it into wedges, placed around the edge of a plate. Salad heaped in middle, atop lettuce. He said it was displayed very nice, fresh strawberries on the side I think. But the minute he took a bite he said he'd never look at regular chicken salad the same way again. In other words, mayo's boring now! I've been meaning to look for a recipe like this but always forget to. He said the salad was so light, you couldn't even taste the oil. But it was enough to hold it together.

That sounds good! And I'll bet the trip to NYC was incredible. That's one place I'd love to see that I have yet to visit.

I'd heard of using plain yogurt in place of sour cream on potatoes and Mexican food, but not in place of mayo. I still haven't tried it with potatoes.

I love both and use each one for different things. My husband hates Miracle Whip but sometimes I use it in different recipes and I don't say anything and he never knows that he's eating it!

To me...mayo has kinda of a taste like of a tomato...can't really pinpoint what's in mayo that may make it taste that way for me...could be to my not liking tomatoes. :P
