I knew I should have not watched. My family is watching them in the other room, and I just happened to go in there--when:

Michael Moore was accepting an award for Bowling For Columbine, when he went on a rampage.

Shame on President Bush, your days are numbered...so forth

I just knew I should not have watched. Not a mention about the troops that are there, supporting them.

Okay, now I need to go look at the clouds or something!

They should have started the music drowning him out as soon as he started. Loved the boos from the audience.

Distasteful indeed. I wonder if people will boycott his movies? Probably not... a double standard, but oh well!

Below is the general idea of his speech (foxnews.com)

"We live in a time, where we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons," Moore said from the stage while accepting the Oscar for his anti-gun film Bowling for Columbine. "We are against this war Mr. Bush. Shame on you, Mr. Bush. Shame on you!"

Moore was greeted by both loud boos and cheers from the audience in Hollywood, notorious for being sympathetic to liberal causes.

Michael Moore is a known liberal activist who blasts Bush by saying that Bush used the tragedy of Sept. 11th to wage war against Iraq, who he claims Iraq had nothing to do with Sept. 11th. AS IF! He also put a book out titled "Stupid White Men"

The Oscars should do him like they did Russell Crowe last year. He should have received that award for A Beautiful Mind. They gave it to Denzel Washington instead. Russell did not get it because of some things he said as well. Not to denounce Denzel... he is an excellent actor... but Russell Crowe was great in A Beautiful Mind.

What an idiot! I'm glad I wasn't watching. He and Alec Baldwin (among others) need to buy a one-way ticket to France!

AU REVOIR!

I'll help contribute to his ticket to Iraq!

Well, I figured they wouldn't willingly go to Iraq and unfortunately we can't kick them out, but I thought they might fit in well with France. After all, wasn't Alec supposed to leave the country already!! I don't care where he goes...just go!

Michael Moore booed as he slams Iraq war at Oscars

HOLLYWOOD (AFP) - Famed US documentary maker Michael Moore used his win of an Oscar to launch a violent attack on US President George W. Bush and war in Iraq amid loud boos from the audience.

"We live in fictitious times," he said when picking up the award for best documentary for his anti-gun film "Bowling for Columbine."

"We live in a time with fictious election results that elect fictitious presidents. We live in a time when we have a man sending us to war for fictious reasons.

"We are against this war Mr Bush. Shame on you. Shame on you!," he said in front of a loudly booing audience of 3,500 people including most of Hollywood's top stars.

that guy made a great documentary, but he needs to stick to those and stop making speeches. He had such bad taste doing that. I know the oscars are a great way to voice your opinion, but he was disgraceful!

In a closing speech last night... Steve Martin said that this show was for "the troops." It is about time someone in Hollywood acknowledged that!! Go Steve Martin!

I didn't tune in for a single minute of it because I knew I wouldn't be able to stomache the anti war sentiment spewing from the likes of Susan Sarandon and her Commie Hollywood cohorts.

But...Hooray for Steve Martin. BTW...hows the tan???
