Erika Dalquist, a local woman had disappeared in October of 2002. A lot of searching had proven fruitless, until recently. Spurred on by the discovery of Dru Sjodin, Erika's remains were finally found a couple of weeks ago on some property belonging to the grandparents of the main suspect in the case. Her funeral was held today.

The suspect, William Myears, has fled to avoid prosecution in the case.

America's Most Wanted was in our area a week ago filming a segment for their show which airs tonight at 8 central time.

I didn't know Erika or her family, but I do know a lot of people who were friends with her, and I really hope this person is brought to justice, for their sake, Erika's sake, and her family's sake.

Well, I don't know if it's any kind of record for the show, but approximately one hour after the broadcast, Myears was apprehended in Michigan. He's currently sitting there awaiting extradition back here to Brainerd. Apparently a woman recognized him from a tattoo as a local carnival worker, and phoned it in.

Now, let JUSTICE be done.
