This takes on a whole new facet to this war, if this information is correct. Being on the front lines with fellow troops you must trust each other. This could put a rift in that.

Sadly, not uncommon...

While much information is preliminary, tonight's attack within the 101st Airborne compound brings back vivid memories from 33 years ago.
I recall instances where the NCO's (non-commissioned officers) were indeed placed in jeapordy by our own troops.
On more than one occasion, the NCO barracks would be planted with grenades that had pins pulled and replaced by a piece of cloth which was then soaking in a bath of gasoline or kerosene. The thought being that the fuel would both slowly deteriorate the cloth and then serve as a fuel after the blast.
I myself, while living on the second floor of a wood and tin barracks, had a PFC below me who unleashed an entire clip (was it 21 rounds?) of M16 ammo through the floor of our room and one other. I was not in the room at the time, but shortly thereafter we wrestled this man to the ground outside and he was later thrown in the "brig" for this type of behavior.
In our case, the primary source of the anger that drove this type of discention was either race related and/or substance abuse.
We shall see what the results of this investigation will show.

Has anyone reported what "hyphenated-American" this soldier is? We will be VERY surprised when we learn who these soldiers are. Well, maybe not surprised... but I believe it will start alot of chaos and backlash right here in the United States. How sad.

Shades of that Walker @$$hole! These ppl are giving their all and to have a fellow comrade do this is beyond comprehension. If I'm not mistaken, this is treason (sp) is it not? If so, this guy will only have days to live! I say send the SOB into Baghdad looking for the Bio-Chem weapons WITHOUT his mask and suit!

The news is reporting it was a Muslim-American whom they thought had resentment, but stopped short at what resentment he harbored. WE the people of the United States have the right to know just what resentment he had, to try and take out his fellow comrades who are over there fighting for his rights to freedom.
Sorry streetsoldier... I am tooting my horn again.

This guy in my opinion has to go to a military tribune and penalize him with all the power.
