I guess because of Memorial Day. Personally, I think they are making an anti-war statement. I had serious reservations about it when ABC did it. Doonesbury cartoon this morning had all the names as well.

So what do ya'll think?

See for yourself, Brent. Imagine if one of these brave soldiers were your brother, father, friend. These people should be honored.

The names/photos are widely avaliable online as is the casualty count, but it's stuff that CBS and ABC do that causes the public to turn against the war!

If you want me to comment on that I will, not that many have died. Each photo is used at least two or three times because there are more than 1,400 photos there. As of today, 810 have died. So, now we've got sites trying to make the situation look worse than it is.

58,000 died in Vietnam
405,000 died in WWII

More than that in WWI

I think 800 in Iraq is pretty small in comparison.

Show us one with Clintons face on it kittcat.

Brett, no need in explaining it to kittcat, she is an obvious Bush hater because of her link.

I don't see it as anti-Bush. I would imagine that Bush would want us to remember our fallen soldiers who died lessening the threat of terrorism.

Dateline NBC did a piece about the heroes aboard the flight that crashed in Pennsylvania and they showed all their pictures. I see no difference. They were heroes as well.

On the 9-11 anniversary in 2002, networks had live coverage as names and faces were read/shown.

I don't see the reason why this is slanderous.

No, I didn't mean her. I am just saying the principle in general. I have no use for partisan crap.

I think it is important to realize that war is terrible and kills people.

Sometimes it is necessary, but there is no need to dehumanize it.

I think CBS actions were appropriate on this weekend.

I think that such blatant displays only serve to feed certain people's FEARS...and that plays right into Al Qaida's hands.

Even if we pulled out ALL of our troops and civilians worldwide, Al Qaida wouldn't cease killing us (or anyone else that happens to be in their way) at every opportunity. KNOW this...believe it...and you"got it".

THEY won't stop; neither should WE. Period.

Memorializing those who have fought and given their lives is a good thing. Politicizing those same people is just the opposite.
