Tragedy at my High School

There has been a tragedy at West Springfield High School. One of the seniors at our school committed suicide. I knew him somewhat, and sort of wasn't expecting it. He did it while he was at home. He seemed fine on Monday and Tuesday. I am still trying to get over it. In addition, it is harder for me because I have been down that path before, mainly in February. I know what it is like to be at that point. I have been struggling myself with these problems for the past few months after my own attempt back in March. Luckily, I was saved by my friends. I have been seeing a psycologist for a while as well. I am just hurt right now... so I will try to keep a hapy face.

But I will be fine and I hope not to go down that deep dark road again ANYTIME SOON!

Matt...high school years are difficult ones, and it is sad to lose a friend in that way. Remember him for the good things that he did and the laughs he brought.
My prayers go out to you and his family too. Life is never so dark that ending it is the only way out. There are always other choices.
Take care. You seem to be a stronger person yourself, and we are proud of you for that.

Matt, rest assured, the family along with yourself will be in our prayers, such a tragedy

I've been on 2 suicide calls in the past 3 weeks on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation, the suicide rate there is the highest in the nation, 18% of the tween/teen population commit suidcide and I can see why, there's no hope, no way out....drug abuse, alcohol abuse runs rampent on the rez.....and these young men and women are stuck in the middle, they are trying to find their own way in a messed up world and in their eyes, suicide is the ONLY way out, sad indeed.

Yes, it is very sad.

One of the quotes I soon learned was: Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. It just has been very hard because his death brings me back memories of what I tried to do, which I have been trying to supress. Oh well, life does go on. I will try to get over it.
Thanks Anthony. I know that would help.
Thanks to all who have responded. Your prayers and responses are greatly appreciated.

Matt - that is very sad. I will keep his family and your class in my prayers. And please know that we are all here for you too, should you ever need us. To vent, rant, rave, or just 'talk'. High School can be either a wonderful time in your life or a very challenging time. I go thru it with my 16 year old daughter, Nina. She's going into her Senior year and is so fed up with the cliques, labeling people, mean spirited comments towards special needs students, minorities, etc. She wears her heart on her sleeve and is very sensitive to others around her. When she sees injustice, it just makes her so mad. She can't wait to start college.

I'm sorry to hear about that student as well!
As for you, make sure you keep seeing your psychologist. High School is a very rough time for teens. I've been "down that path" as well yoda and the biggest step is to realize that you need to love yourself first and find help. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm a pm away also!
In the meantime, my prayers go out to both your friend, his family and you as well!

I can only echo what everyone else has sated Matt. I've been through it with my own, so if you ever need someone to talk to I am here also. Fortunately, as with you, we got him help before the end was reached. THERE NEVER IS ANYTHING IN LIFE THAT IS WORTH TAKING YOUR LIFE OVER, NEVER!!!! Prayers to you, Roberson's family and all of your class as you struggle with this tragedy. I am only a pm away if you need to talk.

Matt, that is some serious stuff, and hard to understand. Be happy inside thatyou are still alive and not causing anyone the pain that this friend has caused his family and friends...you have a whole, wonderful life ahead of you, he'll never know that...

Thanks to everyone who had responded. This means a great deal to me. I will be sure to take the advice of all of you who have posted on here. Again, thank you for your support and prayers. I will be gone all day tomorrow, since his funeral service is tomorrow. I will probably be there all day. I think I speak for my senior class when we thank you for all of your prayers.
