God Bless The USA

If tomorrow all the things were gone

I'd worked for all my life,

And I had to start again

with just my children and my wife,

I'd thank my lucky stars

to be living here today,

'Cause the flag still stands for freedom

and they can't take that away.

I'm proud to be an American

where at least I know I'm free,

And I won't forget the men who died

who gave that right to me,

And I gladly stand up next to you

and defend her still today,

'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land

God Bless the U.S.A.

From the lakes of Minnesota

to the hills of Tennessee,

Across the plains of Texas

from sea to shining sea.

From Detroit down to Houston

and New York to L.A.,

There's pride in every American heart

and it's time we stand and say:

I'm proud to be an American

where at least I know I'm free,

And I won't forget the men who died

who gave that right to me,

And I gladly stand up next to you

and defend her still today,

'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land

God Bless the U.S.A.

That song always brings tears to my eyes. It is truly a reminder of who we are and why we fight to keep what we have

Ever since 9/11, I have loved that song. I listen to it quite a bit.

When I went down south for my Nephew's flyin from Afganastan. You could see all the Marine helicopters on the horizon flying in from the carrier. They played that song on the intercom. Well, I cryed so hard that I think Cherry River had flood warnings out that night!!!!
Thanks Jen

What is it about that song! Lots of patriotic songs out there, but Lee Greenwood's version of that particular song just turns me red, white, and blue!

As a matter of fact, I am going to play it right now!...I just did, and I still love it!

My favorite patriotic song is that 1.. After 9/11 I even gathered a new appreciation for our national anthem..

I used to have no problems with it anyhow, but I seemed to gain more respect for it.
