Or so they say.

A senior U.S. official said the escalation of the aerial campaign might not be as intense as originally planned because U.S. surrender talks with senior Iraqi officials were continuing.

I guess we'll see soon enough.

Thanks for the update Chad - guess the Special Republican Guard didn't want to surruonder - wonder if they are in AWE and SHOCK now?

You can expect a lot more surrendering after this i would imagine.... Ive never seen anything like this... They had there warnings....

I don't think they have anywhere to run - with ground troops advancing towards basra and supposely Sadamn has trenches dug all around bagdhad filled with oil/gaoline - they are there.

Peter Arnett reports at least 25 major government buildings gone and they sure aren't letting up!!! That is just in the area near his hotel! Also attacking compunds surrounding the international airport. Also huge explosions to the N of Baghdad in several cities. They are going after the Republican Guard now. Can we say BUHBYE!!!!
