Earth changes

Changes in the Earth will increase and there will be nothing we can do about it in the normal sense of doing. No machines will fix the problem...no matter how clean and efficient ..its past that point....But there is a way to fix the problem.....But it has to do with our philosophies on life. We have to learn more patience, going slower instead of faster, being more gentle instead of harsh, more loving instead of hateful, praying like we REALLY mean it, we have to minimize our wants, we have to learn to walk to places again ...walking is good for the spirit as well as the body, we have to be more trusting, honest, truthful, tolerant....this is what will save some parts of our civilization...the good parts and the bad parts will be grown out of. Its called evolution. Its called growing up out of adolescence. The "heavy hand" we like to use to fix problems will kill us all.

Look for more earthquakes of greater magnitude and more earthquakes in places that dont usually get them (small at first then getting larger)...that will be a sign that big change is coming ...also look to the sky for usual events in the heavens ...that will be another sign that we better wake up and change. Peace.

P.S- this is very important... we must also reexamine the educational system and see what is GOOD for us and the Earth ...we must start teaching the children a more gentle existence. We should start having peace classes in schools immediately and the peace should be taught as us living with the Earth in balance and harmony and each other in balance and harmony...no peace with the Earth no peace with each other ..and vise versa.

There wouldnt have been landslides if the mountains were not clear cut. Their "heavy hand" was met with HEAVY HAND.

We should realize that oil production is going to finish very soon.
Within the next ten years the peack of extraction will be reached, from that point on oil will be harder to be extracxted and fewer to be found. Oil prices are going to increase year by year.
We should all consider a different life style.
The problem is: do we really want it?
We are just living our life at the best somebody else is imposing us.
We use heavy cars that are spreading 80% of their power just to heat the air, an old technology that means huge consumption.
We live under few lobbies that control our lives: we must buy and consume what they want us to buy and consue, because that's the only way to be happy.

I don't see so much gloom and doom. Changes? Yes. There's always changes. Humans are adaptable. We transitioned from human power to animal power, to coal, to oil, and we'll find the next source of energy too. There's a silver lining. The high cost of oil will provide more impetus for alternatives and conservation. Let the market work. Maybe oil prices need to go up even more to create markets for the alternatives. Lifestyles come and go. Everyone gets worried about every downtick in the economy. Bottom line: If you're skilled and adaptable, you'll be fine.

As far as increased earthquakes, etc: Bah, Humbug!

I'm on lunch break now but will be available for additional debate later.

I would add that the human spirit is also among the most resilient. Out of the ashes of mistakes and gloom and doom new seeds rise and give way to new hope and ideas.

It is that resiliency combined with ingenuity and adaptability that Ed speaks of that will provide us with much new opportunity and help us learn from all the costly mistakes we make along the way.

Being gentle to our environment and each other is a good thing but that does not preclude that in doing so we will become something other than human beings....capable of seeing more clearly and making better decisions.
