On Friday, my mom was giving instructons to one of her co-workers about how to do whatever is at work, well my mom made a big mistake of saying "gal", because a black lady got into my mom's face about using the word "gal", My mom said that the lady thinks the term "gal" meant slavery. My mom kept her cool, but the lady that wanted to start a fight with her was ordered to leave work.

Never knew the word "gal" was meant in that way. It does put a whole new spin on the song "Buffalo Gals" if that is the case...

That women sounds like an Omarosa person. she is obviously carrying a chip on her shoulder about her ethnicity. I've lived in the DEEP SOUTH for 50 years and have NEVER, EVER heard the term gal used in any derogatory way by anyone!!!!!

That's a first for me, too...have always been brought up that to ever call a black man or woman a boy or girl is offensive...but guy...or in this case gal...
puts a whole new light on things...
