FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. -- When authorities warned an Illinois man not to drink and drive, it may not have been clear to him that the prohibition also applies to lawn mowers.
He's now charged with riding his lawn mower on a public street while intoxicated and with a revoked license.

The man, who has two previous DUI convictions, was pulled over this week in Fairview Heights.

Police say he refused to stop and shouted obscenities when a patrol car responded to a complaint about a man driving a lawn mower erratically in the street.

They say he had his 1-year-old daughter on his lap at the time.

Police say it's illegal to drive any motor vehicle while intoxicated and to drive one on a public road without a license.

Here in AZ, there are places where golf carts have replaced cars on the roads. Retirement communities like Sun City. There have been a number of accidents in which drivers or passengers were killed...intoxication was part of the cause!
