Interesting situation developing.. {is confused}

There is an interesting dilemma developing here. It's now 5:00pm eastern. My alma maters' graduation starts @ 7. I really wanted to go.. But.. I HAVE SUDDENLY ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM.

I just got home from a day out and found my phone messages.. Cassie called :). The only problem is.. she did say she'd call back later.. But I won't be home later if I go to graduation! :cry:

I'm in a no win situation.. If I go to graduation.. and Casandra calls.. then I won't be home to receive the call and that would be the 3rd time in a row that I missed her calling to talk to me.. :(

However.. if I do go to graduation.. and she doesn't call.. then of course I'll have no harm no foul..

If I choose not to go to graduation and Casandra calls.. then I'll be ecstatic to hear from her.. but also sad because I missed graduation..

If I choose not too and she doesn't call.. then I'll feel like I missed out completely..

Though also if I don't go to graduation.. I'll get to stay home and watch the Bolts/Flyers hockey game like I wanted to do.. :)

So if you can.. put yourself in my place.. what would you do.. I'm considering staying home.. I actually was thinking most of the afternoon to stay home.. But you give me your opinion.. {of course after 7pm eastern.. this thread becomes useless even if I do stay home lol}

You've got to decide what is going to make YOU happy. My advice, go to the graduation. You can talk to Cassie another time, but graduation is only this once.

Change the outgoing message on your machine if you can, to personalize it for Cassie. Explain that you'll be out until whatever time so she can call back then. Of course, don't actually say, "Hey Cassie, call me back at ____." Make it a general message for anyone who calls, but make in obvious that you don't want to miss their call, nor do you want to miss this final graduation.

Thanks for your opinions Jennifer & Duck.. As much as I want to be there.. I think I'll skip.

1. because it's not like these kids are going to remember me anyway

2. Because I really want to hear from Cassie if she calls. {I've missed her last 2 calls}

3. It'll give me a chance to stay home and watch the Lightning and Flyers if I do stay home.. I wanted to watch the game anyway.. :)

Plus I can't stand my alma maters' new principal. He's a %^%** lol

I would have gone. Graduation is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

LOL about your principal. Maybe you made the right decision. :lol:

I am afraid that one day you will wish you had gone to graduation. As much as you have tried to help Cassie, do you really want to miss major events in your life for a phone call? Maybe, she means a lot more to you than a friend. :D

I just don't want to see you get hurt John. Sunnyday has a good point.

Enjoy the game - 3 -2 Flyers now! :P :D

I am enjoying the game.. She does mean just a friend to me.. I promise.. I just have missed her phone calls the last 2x...

a little FYI.. As happy as I am listening to the game, part of me really does wish I went to the graduation because she never called back..

At the same time.. These friends of mine that walked tonight really aren't going to remember me much anyway because after I graduated in 2001.. I slowly became a memory to a lot of them instead of a person who still hung around..

4-3 Bolts! woo hoo..
