I think that he barked up the wrong tree on that one.

i dont think its low at all. mccain talks about sacrifices. huh?? in that case he should be delighted gas prices, partly due to the war, are so high.
he is using 'sacrifices" to force tax increases on everyone. the govt is already forcing us to sacrifice by too high taxation now.

is NOT Advocating higher taxes, he is just NOT advocating more tax cuts at a time when we are fighting a war. He also advocates Fiscal Responsibility and cutting back on non essential Government spending-something that USED to be the Republican Party Platform. To lecture McCain on war and sacrifices is to be most presumptuous and sounds like more shenannigans from the Bush wing of the Party which smeared McCain during the 2000 Primaries and which seems to want to damage his credibility again at a time when Bush is in trouble even among conservatives.

woo-hoo, short and sweet and to the point, nice post. However, this is a method to the madnes of "spend and borrow" which I myself do not agree on, but it can be used effectively.

Thanks Bill - it's a spin off of the "tax and spend" label given to the Dems.

To a degree it can be used to jump start an economy, but to me politicians throw out the "tax cut" and "spending cut" terminology like they are saying "hello" or "goodbye". There's no real serious thought process as to making systems more efficient to support these cuts. Borrowing a comment made by Jack Nicholson in "A Few Good Men" - they "use them as a punch line". Then, viola! They've been elected.

I have a GOP friend in Kansas City who's a long time friend of Dennis Hastert.

I dropped him a note today about his buddy picking on our own Arizonan John McCain.

"What's this," I said, "The Hatfields (Hasterts) and the McCoys (McCains) duking it out? Once again the GOP is exposing its GOB (Good Old Boys) syndrome. Throw some cold water on it!"

Haven't heard back from him, but I surely will.

McCain may have a party identity crisis, but he certainly has the ear of the voter better than many in the GOP. They sure can let their arrogant side show!

McCain is my favorite politician that currently serves in the US Senate. He was my choice for President in 2000. He works for the people better than ANY senator I have followed in my lifetime. He is one of *the few* that don't care about party affiliation... they care about doing the right thing.

Thanks Popsky. I actually do think that not all politicians are bad people.

I would vote for that ticket, but your far left wing liberals would probably pass out... and so would the far right wing for that matter.
