The Gifts of Happiness

When we count our many blessings,
It isn't hard to see
That life's most valued treasures
Are the treasures that are free.
For it isn't what we own or buy
That signifies our wealth,
It's the special gifts
that have no price-
Our family,
friends, and health.

(This is on a plaque that hangs on my wall. Just thought I'd share it.)

Excellent post Jen!! Without family, friends or health who would we have to share the treasures with? And you can't take it with you when you go.

I want you to be my nurse when I need one. Somehow I think you could make that needle hurt less...

I'm pulling for you to get into nurses school. Will a letter of recommendation from Storm2k friends help?

Beautiful poem and so true.
Thanks for sharing it with us, Jen.
Like the old saying goes, "The best things in life are free"
And the older you get the more you realize it.

...and besides Jenn, if you can't make the needle hurt any less, it is obvious by your other posts that you could make me laugh!

Next to knowing your stuff as a nurse, humor and compassion are the very best medicine.
