#1 Postby SolarQuestions » Wed May 19, 2004 8:47 pm

Which group will the people pick to satisfy their hunger for hate and blame and scapegoating ? Will it be the republicans, the demoratics, the communist, the welfare bums, the rich, the poor, the dope heads, the nazis, the skin heads, the do gooders, the secret organizations, the whites, the blacks, the browns, the yellows, the pinks, the reds, the purples, the aliens, the religious, the secular, the pompous, the hermits, the momas boys, the daddys girls, the tall, the short, the gay, the straight, the men, the women, the christians, the hindus, the buddist, the muslims, the witches ...who who who.....which group will satisfy our hunger to blame and scapegoat?

Everyone has faults and is wrong from time to time. It doesn't matter what color, creed, race, religion, etc. you belong to.

Well then you're not surrounding yourself with the right people FOR YOU. That 10% that share your views and your passion, surround yourself primarily with them. It's good to hear what "the others" have to say too, but if you continue to surround yourself with just the other 90%, it will make you a bitter soul.

Anger and frustration feed the elements of distrust. When energy is devoted to pointing fingers, being angered by a situation that seems hopeless, or simply feeling overwhelmed with grief and sadness, there is little energy left to begin making a difference.

We all need to share the blame for the ills of the world, but we actually can, and actually do, have the ability to change the course of things.

One step at a time. One day at a time. One kind word at a time.

Wishing that it were different cannot make it so. Saying an encouraging word at an appropriate time really can.

This world has many great wonders; millions who love and give love, care and give care, and have a resilience beyond anyone's expectations.

I choose to be part of that great movement...and one at a time it will change the course and save a life. Even bring a smile.

Those who choose to blame someone, anyone, would be such allies to the cause if they would fuel the flame of hope rather than the flame of anger.

I blame those that use violence to solve problems or express ideas, regardeless of color, race, religion, country.
I blame those that pretend to rule the world, while are just ruling their own business.

I'll pick Steve's answer. It speaks to me in other contexts as well.

I like Jen & Poppysky's posts.

SQ - your post kind of supports my earlier comment to you about being negative. You believe in humanity, but you have nothing but negative points about society and the human race. BELIEVE ME, I can understand what you are saying, but there are alot of beautiful things done by humans on a daily basis. If I felt like you did, I'd probably want to crawl in a hole and die - I suffer from depression, so I can relate to that. To me, it's all about hope, faith and trying to see the positive in people rather than the negative. It's also about trying to understand and respect each other for their differences in opinions, backgrounds, etc.
