Very bad situation here today...A school bus full of middle and high school students was passing another school bus when it hit a 45 year old man on a bike. The man was crushed to death under the wheels of the bus, while dozens looked on. Needless to say, counselors will be at the Watertown Middle and High Schools tomorrow, but these images will stay in the minds of the students who witnessed the event for the rest of their lives. No article has been posted yet, but I do have two pictures (courtesy of http://www.newzjunky.com)

After the body was removed...Notice the police tape around the bus and the detectives standing near it. I heard the sirens, but had no idea that something of this magnitude had happened.

The kids will have a bad memory, but what about the poor guy on the bike! Did he leave behind family and friends?

So sad. Back in the first part of 9th grade we almost killed a guy. We had an old man as a bus driver(65 or so), and we were going down the road one afternoon and all of the sudden I heard this LOUD noise. I thought we had wrecked. It turns out we had "cutoff" a small little car and caused it to go into a ditch and slam into the wall of it(that was the noise). I didn't actually see him hit because it happened so fast. The guy in the car after about a minute climbed out of the window and just laid on the ground. We had to get one of the houses near the accident to call 9-1-1 and had to wait about 30 minutes. I guess he ended up being ok. I never heard though. We eventually carried on after the bus driver did a police report. I think that was the most scared I had been in my life.
