4 held in the Nick Berg beheading

#1 Postby BEER980 » Wed May 19, 2004 7:33 am

This should be interesting. Somehow they only got four of them.

EXECUTION: FOUR HELD

Four people are being held over the beheading of American Nicholas Berg, Iraq sources have told the AFP news agency. The 26-year-old businessman's decapitated body was found 10 days ago in Baghdad.
Asked if more than one person had been arrested in connection with the killing, the source told AFP: "Four people".

"We have made good progress," the source added, referring to the investigation, but declined to give any further details on the identity of the four people held in detention. But Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt, deputy director of operations, said on Tuesday: "We have no information from the Coalition that any arrests were made today."

Nick Berg's killing was shown around the world on the internet. The poor quality website video showed Berg dressed in orange overalls kneeling on the floor with his hands tied back. There were five masked men behind him. One read a statement urging Muslims to take revenge over the abuse of Iraqi prisoners by American soldiers.

The masked men then pushed the American contractor to the floor and shouted "God is greatest" above his screams. His head was cut off with a knife and then held aloft. The website said the execution was performed by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, a top ally of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. He is not thought to be among the four people arrested, AFP has reported.

Four out of five...did they get the one who held the knife, I wonder?

Furthermore, what about the one with the camera?

Nope GalvestonDuck the one who had the knife was reported to be al-Zarqawi. There were actually 2 cameras filming it but that is another story.

Well that's certainly good news.

I hope we get Al Zarqawi soon. He is the one who is ordering most of the attacks on everyone.

Please, please, please, for the love of God and money and public relations all around the world treat these barberous cowards with all the kindness, patience, tolerance and love that you would a crippled child; after all their emotional deformities that make them as jackals is basically caused by US citizens who drive big cars, are successful, and don't care enough about the downtrodden folks of All-Jiz-Rearend.

its not clear whether these people were resposible or if they just have info. to me, we should use any means necesary to get the info, short of physical mutilation

Also coming out now that all those picture of people in hoods, those hoods were put on them to scare them with the idea they were going to be electrically shocked but no one was electrically shocked. I guess it is now not acceptable to use fear as an interrogation technique.

Each and every one of the killers MUST be caught and punished. None can be allowed to get away with this most awful, sick act. :grr:

I don't think the media wants us to lose the war. You are on the right track but keep stating and overstating an issue that I think is non existent. The media wants to sell soap powders and this country has come to a point of such achievement and prospertiy that we no longer focus on what is the next task to accomplish to make our lives better. We are cushy and reflective now days and as good news does not sell then let's focus on what does sell-bad news. I no longer watch Nightline, they are a shill for those that would harm us. If millions simply turned off the set, it shows up in the ratings, which shows up in the ad cost, less soap powdeer is sold, and suddenly Nightline begins to focus who what is happening with the Berg butchers. We have mostly avoided the hedonistic destructivenss that took down the other greatest empire, ancient Rome, but have somehow ventured down the road of turning reflective thought and self examinination into an almost self hate for what we have worked so hard to achieve both nationally and internationally.
