I work at a grocery store. We have an in-store bank and an associated ATM terminal. Every so often (about a couple times a week), the thing will start alerting that a transaction has completed. The thing is the user is no where to be found. They just leave their valuable credit card there for the taking. This unit asks whether or not they desire to do another transaction. No PIN number is needed, so anyone could place a banker in some deep turmoil quick.
Probably not as serious, but still a little dumb is what I noticed today. Filling up my car with gas, I noticed a credit card reciept still hanging from the slot.
Some need to understand the world we live in now is MUCH different, or they just need to be more cautious.

I've done two boneheaded things like that. Once I left my ATM card in a machine. After a time the machine will suck it back in. I had to go back to the bank during regular business hours to get it back. When our last washing machine died, I had to go to the laundromat (laundrymat, he he) and I left my wallet there. I went back an hour later and found it with $100 removed.

I have found the credit card reciept many times at gas stations. It would be very hard to use it as only the last 4 digits are visible. Maybe its the fumes because I see plenty of gas doors open as well.

Ditto. I always see receipts left. Are people in that big of a hurry??

I agree!
When it comes to gas station receipts left at the terminal, I always throw them out for the person who forgot them. Even though it only shows the last 4 digits, it does show your first and last name. Better not to take any chances!
