Don't buy gas on May 19th
IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES DID NOT
PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL
COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.
AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF OVER
4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES.
THEREFORE MAY 19TH HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT UP THEIR behind "
DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF GASOLINE
THAT DAY.
THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY
PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.
WAITING ON THIS ADMINISTRATION TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT
GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT
THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?
REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP BUT AT THE
SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE
FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS
SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING MATERIALS, MEDICAL SUPPLIES
ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!
WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE
WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN.
SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE YOU
KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE MAY 19TH A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF THE
UNITED STATES SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

We can make a difference. It is at 2.11 for REGULAR here. That's ridiculous. I realize OPEC raised the price, or lowered supplies, but it is the gas companies that are winning out on this. At 40.06/barrel, oil is costing the companies 73 cents/gallon. 73 cents!!!! I realize refining and all costs money, and don't get me started on government taxes, but at 73 cents/gallon, I am paying $1.38 for shipping, processing and the Name on the pump!!! Ridiculous

Time to swarm the email boxes of our local news stations. Like a "letter to the editor" deal. Who knows, maybe one of them will pick up the story!

So, we all stock up on gas on the 18th or wait until the 20th to buy it? Either way, the same amount (a tankful) goes into the vehicle and the money goes to the oil companies. Unless it gets really expensive (or really cheap) on the 18th, I don't see how it's going to make much of a difference.
On the other hand, if we just didn't consume ANY gas for a day or so, therefore requiring no need to fill up on any of those days, that might make a difference.
Sorry, gotta be the party pooper.

We should have several buy no gas days ...
Hell, I gotta better idea ... declare May 19th a STAY AT HOME HOLIDAY ... and everyone just stay off the roads for a few days ... be lazy, play a game or two, stay online ...
