A man shot himself in Winton Terrace Monday night at around 9pm. Minutes later a crowd of people began to turn disorderly thinking that police had shot the man. One vehicle belonging to WCPO-TV was set on fire and another belonging to WXIX-TV had a rock thrown at it. Police did not fire their guns even when 4 or 5 shots were fired by one person in the crowd. What is your reaction? I'm personally a little sickened by this and hope we do not see this kind of thing today.

I sure wouldn't be. I'd hate to be in that position.

Especially in this town! Residents just assumed police fired upon the man in the car, when in fact the man in the car shot himself. This all goes back to our riots, which happened in April 2001. I hope I have the year correct. And do I believe our inner city police department is corrupt? Well, yes on many accounts it appears that it was (riots) and possibly still is. Such a long story, the problems our city faced back then (racisim, racial profiling, etc.) still exist today. They are just simmering beneath the surface. If I find a link to explain all of this, I will post it.
