Best way to learn, and QUICKLY, how to wash-starch-iron-fold-hang your clothes (and polish your shoes or boots) is in any of our Armed Forces!

I still fold my clothing the way I was taught in this man's Air Force, and it works for me quite well.

Just now that I tried it...I now know JQ's Pain...I could not do that in one hurdread years.

You sound like my hubby now.. his shirts are in his closet at perfect angles, pants perfectly hung up and we wont say how I get moaned at when I make the bed

Debi and coppertop may be happy with the way they fold/hang their clothing, and they are welcome to do so as they please...even the bed gets done Debi's way, and I have no complaints.

But, I will not let anyone do MY laundry, starch it, iron it, fold it, etc.; I am a creature of habit and training, and I, alone take care of my things. As my old USAF instructors said it..."You take care of them; they will take care of YOU." That goes for everything from weapons to shoes, shirts to undies. Besides, they said something else that I remember; "If you cannot make your bed according to 'simple instructions' as laid out in your manual, what makes you think we can trust you to properly fold someone's parachute?"

Words of wisdom, Bronwyn...and I haven't forgotten a WORD of them.

Some good news. Instead of studying for exams like a good boy i decided to perfect the art of folding a shirt...and I finally got it! I still can't get it as good as that lady, but with time I'm sure i will! Lol i like your advise Bronwyn! I wish i could be like you Bill, but i have not figured out the best way just yet.

That's an interesting way and I tried it and couldn't get the hang of it. Oh well.

HOW TO FOLD A SHIRT, USAF STYLE- Iron and starch it first (if necessary), then...

(1) Button it up, all the way to the collar
(2) Lay it flat and smooth on a hard surface, front down and arms extended
(3) Fold arms in at the seams, across the back
(4) Then fold the shirt into thirds, length-wise...should be about 6" wide, if done correctly
(5) Fold the tail up, about 1/3 of the way...keep all folds sharp and neat
(6)Then fold the rest of the shirt once more, to just below the collar yoke
(7) Flip the shirt face-up, smooth it and put it away.

"Simple instructions", folks... If it's done correctly, and with a little practice, it should take less than 30 seconds to get the job done.
