stealing bibles?

in my usual "likes to start drama" self, started an interesting debate among a group of pentecostal kids and their pastor the other day. i raised the following question...

if a hotel purchases the bible that is placed in a room and a person wanting to develop a relationship with Christ steals it thus causing loss for the hotel by having to replace it, is it a sin? factor in that stealing the bible is the person's ONLY viable opportunity to become saved...

the responses i saw among the youth were quite diverse and some passionately argumentative. what do you think?

Most of the time, they are placed there by the Gideon Society. They are there for the taking. It wouldn't be considered stealing
