I have been watching the new and they have said that so far they have not seen nothing to justify this as the main offensive attack....just defensive strategics to prep up for the offensive attack that is coming real soon since none of the terrorist gave us there weapons like I new they wouldnt. :x I think we should just drop an atom or some other large nuclear explosive on them and get rid of the insurgents and that god forsaken town for good! :grr: :grr:

Time to exterminate the entire city, much like how Jericho was exterminated. Thise who have not left are now likely part of the enemy force or are providing aid and comfort to the enemy.

Sure, let's just massacre tens of thousands of civilians...I'm sure the Arab world would just love to get another reason to hate the US.

Don't get me wrong...I can see why you (and others) want this to happen. Whenever I hear of US soldiers getting killed in that city, I think the same thoughts. But we cannot afford to kill too many civilians now. We don't want a full scale uprising on our hands.

Side note- The aircraft involved in the attack was the AC-130 gunship. Pretty heavy firepower. Basically a C-130 transport aircraft loaded with cannons, howitzers, and gatling guns (up to 1,000 shots a minute from those guns). Anyone caught in the crossfire most likely doesn't have a chance and will be vaporized in seconds....

Atom bombs are not the answer. We have weapons to kill those that need to be killed without genocide

Most of the civilians have gotten out of there so I still say we just bomb them....heck with them...I am tired of dealing with them....lets just wipe them out and anyone who dares comes against us out.....and never have to deal with them again....Its time america takes a stand for itself and not for the UN! :x Or some other no good countrys.....

Extermination is just what the rest of the radicals want. As bad as it is we need to go in and slug it out with the holdouts. House by house and street by street. If we were to bomb the whole town flat we would be no better than those we oppose.

I can understand what you are saying; however, no matter what we do, the Arab world will always hate us. I just say accept that and do what needs to be done. If that means replicating the conquest of Caanan only in Iraq, then so be it, IMO. We may not be liked, but prehaps we will be respected and then the message will be sent that terrorism against the USA has a very high price

Honestly, Derek, the idea you have isn't a bad one, IMHO. MOST of the Arab nations will always have a deep-rooted hatred for the U.S. and the Western Way of Life.

A compromise solution would be to continue to target the vital targets and if human shields are placed (whether voluntary or not), do NOT alter the original plan of strategy ...

The message is clear ... the US will NOT bow to the will of tyrants...

I agree...the Arab nations and inparticular, the Islamic fundamentalists will ALWAYS hate us. We need to show that we will not tolerate attacks against our country or our allies for that matter, but we need to respect their way of life as well. It is a fine line to walk, but at this time, we need to fight fire with fire which we seem to be doing now from yesterday's reports.

Arab nations: 70millions of people live in poverty (get less than 2usd a day).
Arab nations: the gdp of the 22 arab nations is below the italian one.
Arab nations: 65millions of adults (40% of entire population) are analphabet.
Arab nations: only the 3,5% of parliamentaries are congresswomen, less of many Africa nations.
Arab nations: 51% of young people would emigrate in western countires.
Arab nations: more that 15.000 medicals escaped to foreign countries between 1998 and 2000.
Arab nations: all books translated into arabian in all arabian countires is less than 10.000, that equals the same books translated into spanish in spain in a year.
Still wondering why they are so fanatic and Islam is experiencing a period of obscurantism?
Abdel Hamid Al-Ansari, an arabian writer heavily attack the arab sat tv's that megaphone terrorism actions, making arabians believe the terrorism is justified by the palestinian problem, the foreign presence, the american partiality, the political repression and finally by the economical crysis.
He says the only way to eradicate terrorism from arabian countries is to revolutionate school programs, grafting a reforming thought, teaching the culture of tolerance, opening towards different civilizations, accepting the globalization.
Some illuminated voices like Al-Ansari are starting to yell against terrorism, trying to show how terrorists are just "rottenminded" persons, that have nothing to share with islam and arabian culture.
We should help them, more than bombing.
