Dell service rocks!

#1 Postby mf_dolphin » Mon Apr 26, 2004 10:09 am

As many of you know I bought a refurbished Dell computer in January. Over the last month I started having problems with it locking up. I finally got around to calling Dell about it. After about 5 minutes on the phone the tech apologized for the problems. Seems the pachine was originally sent back for the same thing. Since they back their refurbished machines with the same warranty they sent me a brand new machine to replace it! Not only that but I got a processor upgrade to boot. My original was a 3.0GHz and the new one is a 3.2 :-) That's what I call service! Good job Dell. :-)

Dell has always been great with customer support the few times I have dealt with them. Enjoy your new comp!

I knew I should have bought a Dell. I had it all picked out and everything, called a local place about repairing the problem I had with my old one to keep for a spare. He convinced me to let him upgrade the old one and build me a new one. Big mistake...I've had nothing but problems. :(
To top it off, he was supposed to fix the problems but recently ran off to the Philipines. The people who took over his shop are not happy with him at all and apparently aren't obligated to honor his warranties but are trying to do so anyway. I know I won't get another one but he's going to look at both of them and try to fix the problems. Geesh, I wanted a new one because of errors, blue screens, illegal operations, etc. and it's been worse than before, just a faster speed.

*sigh*

$$ saved for a new one down the drain....

Yes, Dell sounds great...but I don't think I've ever had to call Compaq for my computer so I can't tell you what their service is like...when their is a problem my mom takes it into work for this computer guy to fix it for FREE...that's what I call service.
