In 8th grade, I started seeing things just off to the side of wherever I was looking. I would turn my head to try to catch what the heck it was but nothing was there. I knew I wasn't seeing things and I sure didn't believe in supernatural, haunting ghosts (only in the Holy one, which is actually a "spirit" - yes :) ). Whatever I was seeing, they were just little quick blobs of white and I was determined to figure it out because I knew there was no way in my skeptical mind that it was anything paranormal.

Took a couples of weeks, but I finally figured out that I was catching glimpses of a lamp or light behind me reflecting in my glasses, which I had never worn until I was 13.

So, nope -- I don't believe in ghosts. :)

I can't say there have been numerous times, but is has occured at least 3 times that I can remember. 2 that stand out, once I took a picture of my old piano, over 100 years old that had been passed down through the family. In that picture, there were 3 DISTINCT faces, that NO ONE in the family knew, definitely from another era. My mom even went so far as to take it back to the photo place to see if they were just joking around with me. They wanted to keep the photo, my mom said no.

Second, 3 nights after my second husband died. I was leaving his house, it was dark. Driving down the street, I felt a very sudden chill, even though it was May. I turned up the heat in the truck and could feel him sitting next to me. I pulled over to the side of the road and saw nothing but an outline. Scared the jinkies out of me. I wouldn't drive that truck for almost a month.

Oh, and family legend has it that my great great aunt could levitate people so evidently mental insanity must run in my family. And my daughter SWEARS that the house we're in now is haunted. Like I said, we must all be a little wacko.

And NO disrespect meant to those who believe or don't believe. Just my encounters and opinions.

About 20 years ago I woke up in the middle of the nite and saw a young lady standing by my bed. No females lived in the house; this apparition was silent and faded away after a few minutes. Well I was doing some real heavy partying back then and thought I was seeing things. Well about this time my father started hearing footsteps in the house when he was there alone..so maybe I wasnt seeing things after all.

Yep I have. The restaurant in Maryland where I worked in High School was haunted. There was a 5 headstone graveyard on the property. It was an old farmhouse from the Civil War and was used to house some wounded. My best friend and I seen them many times. We also experienced the very cold spots. Most of the time it was a woman in a fancy dress. Sometimes we would see a soldier helping another wounded one one walk.

No ghosts, although I know of some haunted houses.

Do believe angels have come into my life at times however.

When I was a still a child, around 10 or so, I spent the night at my best friend's house, who shared a room with her older sister. It was late at night and we were all in bed, but still awake. Her sister was the type that is "in touch" with the spiritual world. She told us that she could sense a spirit in the room with us. We laughed at her and said yeah right. She then proceeded to light some candles and then get back into bed. She said watch this. She asked the "spirit" to extinguish the candles and poof, they went out! She was too far away to have blown them out. Then after a moment or two of shock, the candles flickered back on. Me and Jessica cried out and hid under the covers. To this day, I don't know if her sister was pulling one over on us or what, but she was no where near the candles. I still get goosebumps when I think about that night.

I'm not a believer even though I had that "experience". I tend to draw my conclusions based on logic, and "spirits" just don't seem logical to me. There must be a logical explanation for that night. I'm just not sure what.

There's some kind of "Haunted Galveston" or "Ghosts of Galveston" tour here. I want to go, but haven't had a chance yet. I love to try to get scared but it just doesn't happen.

Apparently, Galveston is loaded with spirits of those who died in the 1900 Storm. And somewhere, there's a house where two girls were killed way back in the 1800's and they haunt the attic. Finally, there's "The Face." It's not an actual ghost, but it is pretty neat to know about and show people who haven't seen it. I've had people driving on campus stop me while I'm walking and ask me how to get to it. And YES, the tragic story about the nurse dying while trying to see The Face is true. But you can blame Honda, not The Face on that.

http://www.halloweensunseen.com/faceutmb.html

Ok, check this out. This is the infamous "Face" that has stubbornly appeared on the University of Texas Medical Building Ewing Hall (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas. Legend has it that the gentleman's image that you will see embedded in the wall is none other than the original owner of the land that this building sits on. Apparently, before he died, he thought that he made it perfectly clear to his family that this land was not to be sold! Well, as soon as the guy died, what did his family do? Yep, gleefully, and with greedy intent, they sold it. But, as the story goes, our man would have the last laugh for eternity. Although, the hospital has tried to remove the Face that you see here, and I mean, they sandblasted it a couple of times, the glorious image of the REAL owner keeps coming back, and coming back, AND COMING BACK! They just can't rid themselves of the curse so I guess they have settled in and will just have to live with it. An interesting side story is that a young nurse was killed when she tried to view the Face. No, the Face didn't kill her but it seems she backed up her car after viewing the Face and she just backed right up into the water and she and her Honda Civic - well, you can figure out the rest. Can you say Glub, Glub! Needless to say, her survivors have a huge lawsuit going against the manufacturers of her Honda Civic saying that her seatbelt did not release when it was underwater and thus, she was unable to unhook herself and subsequently drowned. Interesting. Anyway, so here are the pics of "THE FACE." I have heard how hard it is to get to the Face to see it but all we did was drive up and take pictures of it! Woo Hoo! Have fun - enjoy! Janet

(Edit -- Heck, I don't know why the pic didn't show up completely. Click the link to see several images. :) )

As to answer the question of the thread ... a positively and absolute YES to this question, on several occasions ... plus some clairvoyant dreams/visions, whatever you wish to call it ...

I've had many experiences, and many of the experiences were witnessed by many people at one time, and pretty much leaving them (and myself) to wonder what the hell had just happened...
