Heard on the car radio a while ago and then on my local WRAL-TV5 noon news that the manager of Halifax County NC (where I used to live) anyway his name is Matthew Delk and is in the NC Army National Guard...he was called to duty over there in February and was severely injured yesterday (burns on his face and hands) after a roadside bomb went off near a vehicle he was in.

HALIFAX, N.C. -- Halifax County's manager, Matthew Delk, was injured serving with the Army National Guard in Iraq.
Matthew Delk shown in November prior to his deployment with the Army National Guard.
His family says Delk, a 1st Lieutenant with the 133rd Engineering Battalion out of South Carolina, was injured when his convoy vehicle ran over a roadside bomb.
Delk's family says he suffered severe burns on his face and hands.
Sidenote: Mr. Delk's stamped signature appeared on my paychecks that I got while working part-time as a copy center clerk in Roanoke Rapids.
