Doonesbury at War

I haven't read Doonesbury in years. It's heavy on the liberal side and never appealed to me. And since I read most of the news online now, I don't really keep up with the comics anymore, except for editorial cartoons.

However, I just found out that B.D. was reactivated for service and went to fight in Iraq (yeah, I know -- he's a comic-strip character and his battle isn't real. Same with Gallant on ER.). He was injured at the end of 2002 and will wake up this week. Here's the latest (I suppose this is a flashback). These are yesterday and today's strips. It will be interesting to see what else happens. Not sure if I'll actually be able to post tomorrow's strip (depends upon the language).

rhythm? Jeez....moniter rhythm, please, Leads II...

I've always thought Doonesbury was cool.

LOL, Duck, you can have ER.....LOL - I had rather
have my neurology office setting...seizures, stroke,
migraines...give 'em to me....serious? Er....send 'em
over to the ER.... ;) I gotta respect you, though,
in a MAJOR way! :D

Even though it's a liberal cartoon...I've always enjoyed reading Doonesbury.

Sure hope BD pulls through! :(

Shawn, I missed that... :( They do wonders today with prosthetics...hopefully BD can at least resume coaching (as an assistant) at Walden College after his recovery and therapy.

I hope so.

And you're right, even though it's liberal, it can be a pretty good strip at times. IMO, Trudeau is depicting the sacrifices our brave guys are making over in Iraq and Afghanistan.

You guys are just gonna have to go to the link from here on out. Like I said, I knew the language was gonna be harsh in the strip where B.D. finds out about his leg.
