It's Baby Week For my Child Development Class!!

#1 Postby TexasStooge » Tue Mar 23, 2004 11:33 am

Well, it's that time of year again, it's baby week in Child Development Class! Every year, seniors, and sometimes Juniors get a baby doll (used or new) and get to keep it and treat it like real babies until Friday. This is a required project for me and my other classmates in school, so whenever you see me holding a baby doll...DON'T ASK!

Yes, I remember doing this in the mid 90s when I was in the 8th grade. We utilized two-liter soda bottles dressed up in clothes to ALL of our classes. The teachers had a nursery where we actually had to pay (using fake Monopoly money or something) for the "baby" sitting services.

AH, the memories!

I had real experiences with a baby when I was in high school, since my mother had a baby 3 days after I turned 15. So I had hands on training with a real baby as my mother did not trust my younger sister to watch the baby(she was jealous and would make the baby cry by pinching her). As a result of my relationship with my youngest sister, we are very close despite the age difference and have never had an argument, can't say that about the the other sister.

I remember my sister having a doll in her Child Development class. I never took the class. The class didn't exist when I got to high school.

My three brothers (4 to 7 years older than me; 5 to 8 years ahead of me in school) never took the class.

ROTFLMBO!! Remember, Stooge - DON'T drop
the baby when 'ya go to the bathroom!!!

Coming from the OLD school, we didn't do that,
but, younger family members have told me about
it - I think that most of them sat on the baby,
forgot about the baby, etc...etc.... ;) NOT a good
picture in my mind, indeed!

Now days, they actually have dolls that have a computer chip in them, which make them cry and make sounds at random times.
