sunnyday - I saw that segment on a news channel today. She was immitating Drew Barrymore, IMHO. Now when Drew did that it was shocking, but in a sweet way because I suspect a lot people who follow celebs, like me, like her. I've always found Drew to be so charming, like the girl next door. Sure did drugs at such a young age, but she didn't have a normal childhood either. And she went thru rehab. So when Drew lifted her top for Dave, I don't think anyone was completely turned off.

Now Courtney is a completely different story. And not very original. First off, does she think we all find her attractive? Even sexy is a stretch. But to do a joke just like Drew did years ago, does she think we are that dense? Or we'd forget Drew's Letterman moment? Uh yeah right, Courtney. Not.

I'm done.

LOL, Mary!

Yeah, I thought about Drew's bit also when I read the article. I wasn't exactly happy when Drew did it, but back then, I didn't think very highly of her as an actress. "Never Been Kissed" changed that. She actually showed a bit of range in the movie, even though it wasn't that great of a role. I think the last "blah" role I remember her doing was either "Boys On The Side" (*yawn*) or "Mad Love" which I watched on a flight without headphones. She played the same character ALL the time. But she admitted that on Letterman -- that she just pulled "personalities" out of herself, but that she didn't consider herself that great of an actress. She's matured and I think she's getting better. I just saw "Duplex" the other night. Not great, but there were some comedic expressions that I hadn't seen on Drew before that gave me a bit of a giggle. I used to swear that I never wanted to see Drew in a role in a movie I write (when and if I ever do...and as if I'd have a choice in the cast anyway). Now, I'd put Angelina Jolie on the top of that list. She can't act her way out of the bathroom, IMO.

Have I ranted enough?

As for Courtney Love... :1:

Shawn - well Drew will always be Gertie with me. She was so cute in that roll, especially when she just screamed and screamed at ET. But the role that did it for me was the Wedding Singer. I loved her in that role. And Adam Sandler for that matter (who BTW, is another subject too! He's stuck in that dumb movie character/material rut). He was good in the WS. What was special about that movie was the 80s parody, since it was intentional. So once you got past that and thought could they be more cheesy, and the many comical references to 80s music/hair/clothes, you got into the storyline.

Well, I'm done again.

Good topic actually Sunnyday. And now we're discussing other celebs besides Courtney Love. She'd be disappointed. Courtney who? Yawn..... LOL

Mary

PS - Shawn, your UFO pic reminded me of Anne Heche and her wacky story of alien abduction. Something tells me you have a definite opinion on that one!!!!

LOL! Anne Heche -- what a case! I don't know who was worse, Heche or Margot Kidder.
