NOT SO FAST- EDWARDS SURGING

#1 Postby JTD » Tue Feb 17, 2004 5:21 pm

According to Drudge:

LATE AFTERNOON EXIT POLLS SHOW JOHN EDWARDS PULLING A STRONG SHOWING AGAINST JOHN KERRY, TOP MEDIA AND CAMPAIGN SOURCES TELL DRUDGE... KERRY 42%, EDWARDS 31%, DEAN 15%... DEVELOPING...

Anyone want to go out on a limb and say Kerry is finished and Edwards will be the nominee.

Why do you guys all assume Edwards is a weaker candidate. I think Kerry is weaker.

What do you see in Edwards I don't?

On the off chance (shyeah, right) that the Dems pull off a win this year (or even four years from now), I just hope they pick someone with sense and sanity. The other day when J posted about Kerry using the F word, I didn't think much about it at first because I really didn't care much about the Democratic side of the race. However, wasn't there an incident a few years ago where Bush was caught cussing a bit because a mic sitting near him was still on?

So, after thinking about it a bit, I suppose cussing is the least of our concerns. Just as much as we pride ourselves on our support for our president (and we ask the Dems to stand by him also), I suppose *if* and when another Democrat is elected, I'd support him to some degree until he gives me reason not to (certainly not on the abortion issue, however). I gave Clinton a mild chance, but I knew it wouldn't last. At first, I thought he was going to redeem himself when he sent troops into Iraq. It didn't last. However, after 9/11, I would hope and pray that whoever is serving as Commander-in-chief will have the spine that George has and continue to battle the war on terror.

If a Democrat is elected, I'm not going to vow to leave the country like some Hollywood-libs did back when Bush was elected. I just hope they make a wise choice in their selection of a candidate. Then I hope they make a wiser choice and vote for Bush in the Big Race.

Duck...I think Bush called a journalist an a**hole when he thought the mic was off. He was probably right...lol, but it's still not as bad as the "F" word in an interview...knowing the "mic" was on.

Kerry said: "I voted for what I thought was best for the country. Did I expect Howard Dean to go off to the left and say, 'I'm against everything'? Sure. Did I expect George Bush to f - - - it up as badly as he did? I don't think anybody did," Kerry told the youth-oriented magazine, Rolling Stone.

He did it to appease the youth and look "cool" I guess. Instead, he just looked stupid, not to mention Bush didn't "mess" anything up anyway. I'm proud of what he's done. Thank God he's got some backbone!!
Anyway, I agree that cursing isn't really what's important here, but Kerry's voting record should be enough to scare away many folks.

Jason, I don't see Edwards as weaker than Kerry. They both kinda make me sick. Are either of them pro-life?

Oh, no doubt -- Kerry scares me. I'm just trying to figure out now which Dem would not scare me, should he make it to the big chair.

Edwards

I remember that time when Bush was cursing next to the open mike. I don't like when he does it or when Kerry does it or when anyone does it. I look at it like they have a limited vocabulary!
