Blair: Chirac Wants to Destroy Me
President Bush isn't the only leader weasly French President Jacques Chirac is out to get.
British Prime Minister Tony Blair today told Ian Duncan-Smith, leader of the opposition Conservative Party, that Chirac was "completely intransigent ... that second resolution is now probably less likely than at any time before."
Chirac's bizarrely frank admission that he'd protect his business and military ally Saddam Hussein "no matter what" (hint to Saddam: Go ahead and gas your own people again!) has infuriated Blair, Bush and the allies.
United Press International reports: "More than that, Blair now believes this has become so personal that Chirac is out to destroy his political career. The two men have never got on, and had a furious exchange late last year with Chirac spluttering, 'I have never been spoken to like that.' But the feud has now become white hot."
