Drudge is reporting that Kerry denied the relationship. (Ok, now who among us is surprised at that.......I thought so  )

This quote is from Drudge's website. I don't listen to Imus, so I missed it. Please fill in any details you might have.

IMUS: KERRY IS 'DEAD' IF HE LIED...

KERRY ON IMUS: 'THERE'S NOTHING TO REPORT, NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT . . . NO'

The British Papers are all over this, but nothing here in the states. My local news station covered it, but nothing on the national level.

The woman involved is said to be Alex Polier, 24 years old. She is a writer for the AP

I listened to Imus this morning only because I knew this was going to be discussed - if you want to call it that. Imus asked, Kerry said no, no truth to it. That was the end of the discussion.

However, in leading up to the discussion, Imus asked Kerry if there were any things that might come out in the future that might make him (Imus) change his support from Kerry to someone else. He then asked about the Drudge report; that's when Kerry said no.

Surprise! Surprise! Didn't we know he'd deny it?
Maybe I should give the guy the benefit of the doubt. After all, it's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. I'm sure the real truth will come out.

Yeah, Tim, I guess you are right. But with this girl fleeing the country and not talking to anyone, the evidence is stacking against him.

Senator Christopher Dodd (D-Connecticut) was just on Imus as well. He said he doesn't know how Kerry could have been having an affair during the time period specified since that is the same time frame that he was battling prostate problems.

In the course of the discussion, he did agree with Imus that if this were to prove true in the end, it would be the end of Kerry; especially now that he has denied it.

Changing the subject just a little, Senator Dodd also said the American public won't really care about the affair or President's Bush military scenario in the end - they are more concerned about issues involving the economy, jobs, health care and the war in Iraq. He said these issues are what is going to make a difference; not any mudslinging either party will throw at each other on personal issues.

I enjoy Imus although I don't get to see him as often as I'd like.

I am never up that early and remember some months back he was on MSNBC from 6:00 am to 10:00 am Eastern.

Rumour I heard was that this was a deliberate plant by clinton camp since they do not want a democrat in the white house when hillary runs in 2008. And wasn't it that howard dean fella who slipped and verablized the same accusation when he "supposedly" didn't know the mic was on? This was supposedly "leaked" to various news organizations who wouldn't touch it and it wasn't until it was broken by drudge and british new agencies that the u.s. press started to talk about it. The a/p reporter, btw has left the country and is now in Africa. Her dad called Kerry a "sleazeball"
