the united nations unless france has its seat and veto on the secruity council removed. france has never been an important nation since ww2.
president bush has to back up his tough talk with action. north korea must be delighted to see how weak and vacillating we are when we are faced down by france. do what is right, mr president, stop these endless delays, now!!

Too late for that. We never should have joined this illegitimate organization and if we had, given the spot to Canada. France was and always will remain a bunch of lowly cowards who as far as I'm concerned are still a province of Germany

Glad we didnt run to the UN for a resolution in 1962 during the Cuban Missle Crisis. Back then, we had an effective policy for keeping the peace, MAD. Had we have ran to the UN, God only knows what would have happened then as the Insecurity Council probably would have passed a resolution AGAINST us for the Bay of Pigs invasion.

Had Bush been president, he probably would have asked for Frances approval as he is doing here. I shudder to think what would have happened if Bush were president after Pearl Harbor as he took more than a month to respond to 9/11, even though it was clear that Afghanistan was the state that attacked us

well, we have france to protect us now

Enough Bush bashing! There's so much more involved than what you see on the news or read in the newspapers.

Afghanistan was NOT the STATE that attacked us. It was Al Qaeda and their are a statless organization for the most part. If it had been Afghanistan only, this war on terror would have been simple -- BUT IT IS NOT! Al Qaeda is all around the globe.

As far as taking "so long" to start war, Bush wanted to amass enough troops in the region. Bush did the right thing here. Some people are just critical no matter what happens.

Bush is in a difficult position!!! I must agree though that it is time to stop worrying about what the vote will be!! We don't need France and never have!!! Funny how they've needed us!!!

Hey France!!! Can you say Bye Bye to foreign aid!!!

Exactly! It seems simple enough to understand, but like you said, some people are just critical no matter what happens.

See... I am not always so liberal and critical of him. He has been dealt some tough blows. I get sick of people getting mad at him all the time. I would like to see them make the decisions he does.

This does not mean that we can't disagree about some of the things he, or any other elected official does though! :)

I get sick of it too! I mean, open your eyes people and look at what all he is dealing with. What president in your recent memory has had anything even remotely close to this to handle?

I have enough sense to know that there is more to this than meets the eye and I trust him. I think he is doing a fantastic job and I couldn't be prouder of him.

Isn't it funny that people thought Bush's foreign policy would be inept, while the biggest criticism has been in domestic affairs.

Just a little irony for ya, before I head out the door for a little while. ;)

i cant agree at all. each day of delay exposes

us to further threats from other dictators. bush is the one who made iraq a big deal, no one else. i agree with him!! get the job done. we will be amazed(well some people will, not me) how easy this will be. already there are indications most iraqi army units are begging to surrender.

there are fighters coming in from all over the place to help out saddam so we don't wanna go in there thinking it will be too easy and then get surprise...i mean y'all said he had weapons of mass destruction...so if he uses them it wouldn't be an easy fight.

he has to have commanders willing to carry out his orders

i am not concerned at all about these "volunteers" helping saddam. when the first bomb falls they will go poof. hehe. i have never cared if he had wmd's or not. i do know the world will be better off without him, particularly the iraqi people

Bush made Iraq a big deal??? Bush??? No, I think Saddam and his WMD made Iraq a big deal. Bush just has the guts to deal with the enormous problem. Clinton didn't.

bush pushed iraq to the forefront. if it were left up to the rest of the world. iraq would be ignored. I AGREE WITH BUSH FOR DOING THAT!! but having done that, get on with it. dont hesitate now
