The US-UK will go into next week to call for a vote of the security council and in my opinion Bush is trying to help his best friend Tony Blair as he is in great trouble in the UK with his own party.

GET THE JOB DONE ALREADY!!! blair will be in good shape when the war is fought and won. and it will be won in a few days. delay simply allows more and more opposition to build. i mentioned long ago that this was the french strategy all along, and they have been brilliant. in order to counter the french strategy bush simply needs to pull the trigger. also, we need to have a spine. president bush should announce that the us is pulling out of the un unless france has its permanent seat on the security council(and its veto) taken away. we need to finally wise up. we wont do it though. in fact, we will allow france a say so in post war iraq, if there is a war

Reconstruction for post-war Iraq has been estimated around $20 Billion; and we wonder why gas has gone up to $1.92/gallon for regular. That funding has to come from somewhere - - gee, guess who.

Come on March 29th! lol

Plus the Arab delegation that was to go to Baghdad for discussions were told by Iraq not to 'visit' at this time.

Rob I dont think war will start at the 29th but if that vote comes next week then it will start between the 22-25 timeframe very close to your date.

I would wish the US to go to war and skip the UN because now Bush has lost some credibility because he said at the news conference last week that the resolution would go for a vote this week.

Well, Bush has about as much credibility and honesty as William Jefferson Clinton

He is not begging by any means rainstorm. He is simply doing the "right" thing. HAD Bill Clinton done HIS job in the first place then all this would not have come to be. I have debated this in another thread and I am not going to sound like a broken record and say it again in this one.

but surrendering our security to the un is the wrong thing. imagine if john kennedy had ran to the un in 62 during the cuban missile crisis and asked them to take care of the problem. cuba would have had nuclear missles aimed at us and russia would have seen how weak we were. george bush says our national security is threatened. i agree!! if bush really believes what he says, then just get the job done. unfortunately, the precedent has now been set that we need un approval to act in our national security interests. no matter what happens now, the damage has been done.
