They are sorry for what happened and MTV says it was unplanned.IMO I differ from them because to me it looked real and staged.

Heard on the radio this morning. This wasn't the way it was rehearsed. DUh! Think CBS would have let them if they knew. MTV probably won't be asked to put on the half time show again.

MTV had been promoting a "Janet Jackson shocking moment".

They are all just trying to save their butts this morning. If you watch the video it is clear that this was a planned stunt.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was planned. CBS is not in trouble. Or shouldn't be.. It's all MTV and Janet and Justin

more evidence this was staged:

But ahead of the game, the MTV Web site promised "shocking moments."

"I don't think the Super Bowl has ever seen a performance like this," said Jackson's choreographer, Gil Duldulao.

"The dancing is great. She's more stylized, she's more feminine, she's more a woman as she dances this time around. There are some shocking moments in there, too."

More feminine = showing her breast.

The only thing that was good about the hafe time show was KID ROCK, and I'm not a big Kid fan either. :D

Only good thing about the half time show is I didn't watch it - I have seen that bare boob shot more times then I care to say.....shock and awe .. my mother even called me and ranted about it.... this time I have to agree with her.

I heard that as well j.

Keep it on MTV - the Superbowl is a family (i.e. PG) program. Kids unfortunately are exposed to this, but must we encourage it?

I have to disagree with you there. He sounded terrible, IMO.

Kid Rock was just being Kid Rock. lol. I have seen him on tour and he is not that great of a singer. He needs to stay in the studio so they can continue to make him sound good. lol.

Oh yeah, that was no accident. I have it on tape and watched it a few times. Justin strips it off at the same exact time he's singing that he'll have her naked by the end of the song...something like that. MTV won't be producing another one.

Totally inappropriate for Superbowl halftime...there are millions of kids watching!! I never saw anything even close to that at Superbowl halftime shows when I was a kid. Worst thing then was the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. lol

Anyway, overall, I wasn't very impressed with the halftime special anyway.

You have no argument from me that it was planned. The last line of the song is "Gotta have you naked by the end of this song."

Would someone really try to grab and rip away part of someone else's outfit if they didn't know it was going to come off? If he hadn't have done it, I would have just assumed her outfit was like most leather bustiers -- one piece. But he did it and he knew what would happen.

Furthermore, what's this bunk he's saying about "wardrobe malfunction?" What malfunctioned?? If that wasn't supposed to happen, then just what was supposed to happen?

I can't help but think of my favorite commercial -- "Fifteen hundred dollars for a leather bustier? I didn't care. I just had to have it!" (Citibank ad with Jake: Identity Theft Victim)

Apparently, not even the folks at CBS knew that the "surprise entertainer" at MTV's halftime show was going to be Janet's right boob. According to Justin Timberlake, neither did he:

CBS apologized on Sunday for an unexpectedly R-rated end to its Super Bowl halftime show, when singer Justin Timberlake tore off part of Janet Jackson's top, exposing her breast.
"CBS deeply regrets the incident," spokeswoman LeslieAnne Wade said after the network received several calls about the show. The two singers were performing Rock Your Body, a flirtatious duet to end the halftime show. At the song's finish, Timberlake reached across Jackson's leather gladiator outfit and pulled off the covering to her right breast. The final lyric of the song goes, "Going to have you naked by the end of this song."

The network quickly cut away from the shot, and did not mention the incident on the air.

Timberlake said he did not intend to expose Jackson's breast.

"I am sorry that anyone was offended by the wardrobe malfunction during the halftime performance of the Super Bowl," Timberlake said in a statement. "It was not intentional and is regrettable."

So it was an accident. Maybe. Or this could just be spin. It sure looked like Justin meant to rip her top off to me. If it was an accident, what exactly was he doing with his hand there and why did he rip it away like that? Further, why would she be wearing the jewlery seen in this picture and this picture?

On the way home from my parent's house I was able to catch part of Drudge's radio show. I don't have a link to the transcript, but here's what he had to say about it:

Basically, what we got was a big floppy boob on national television brought to you by the new AOL 9.0 optimized.

I don't think it was an accident. I think they planned it. Wasn't she wearing a shield of some sort over her breast???

Looks like a piercing with a starburst around it to me. This was planned for sure, I just don't know who knew about it before it happened. Justin and Janet obviously knew as well as some people at MTV. Someone should lose their job over it that's for sure....
