The mozzies are already coming out around my house!! we have no county pest control either, so it gets very very bad here.
LOL all those illnesses make me feel like I am back home in SA. I lived in a very bad malaria area and have had it...IT IS NOOOO FUN

Amanzi, Just do the best to take precautions from getting bitten. I know there isn't a sure fire method to prevent that

The chances of getting an illness aren't that good anyhow..We have enough to worry about already.gheez :o BTW any update on your Situation?? let me know

I live perpetually smothered in DEET.
Rainband. The situation is turning into a rather massive expense (ty for the link you gave me I got very valuable info from it) I have had to sell off a car to cover our latest bill from the lawyer $3000.00
The best we can do right now is hope for a 1 year extension. I am busy trying to get all the paper work they need (pile and piles of it) We should be ready to submit at the end of the month, then we have to wait for 6-8 weeks for the INS to give us the YEAH OR NAY. Please pray

Ours are coming out too.
I hate those pesty things. Time to stock up on the Off.

When people nearby were getting West Nile Virus last year, everybody sold out of repellant around here. I've still got a little left over from last year though. We went through a lot of it.

We were under west nile alert but only had a few cases in animals as I recall, no human ones though

In our county anyhow.

Many dead birds and bunnies in my area last year........lost a few people too.........
The West Nile Virus was prevelent here in this Michigan county of Lenawee last summer. The birds that seemed to get hit the most were larger ones like Crows, Owls, Hawks.......even an Eagle that this was a suspect. Perhaps because of their size, we simply noticed them more. There were many confirmed human cases, and 3 deaths I believe.
This is a scarry problem! I work outside in my yard all summer and was one of many who found themselves in bed for more than a week because of very sore and stiff neck......horrible body aches.......fever. It was not fun. The Dr. suspected West Nile. My husband is a surveyor who daily works outside......and has a weakened imune system because of leukemia (in remission now)......ought to be an interesting summer........p
