With the holidays behind us and life is starting to slow down to a dull roar, one's mind turns to that WONDERFUL time of the year..........."Tax Time!"

Who does your taxes? We have an accountant do ours, I've been sitting here in my *spare time* putting ALL the receipts together, adding them up, catagorizing them, talk about a PAIN in the rear....receipts for gas, entertainment, SAR equiq. (the SAR Unit is a non profit org.) dog food, dog treats (yes, we get to write ALL the dog food off and ANYTHING associated with dogs, vet bills etc). I *think* we're going to be O'TAY this year, next year??

That's why today after work, we're heading out to look at a new vehicle, HOPEFULLY a Hummer!

I head to HR Block and have them done by a professional who appears to know what he/she is doing.
I would have so many audits if I attempted the dreaded "T" word myself. THe IRS would have my head!

I use to do my own, but you really have to keep up on the tax changes,so I also take mine to an accountant.

We've used an accountant for the last 10 years or so. I see no reason to change now

I haven't had to do taxes the past few years, but since I worked last year (tax exempt! :o ) I don't know what I'll end up doing.

Since coming to AZ, life has been simpler. Two W-2s for us...and a small number of investments and write-offs. H and R Block used to handle things for us...but since coming here, I have been preparing our own.
If I get a complex year, I'm not afraid to go to a professional, though.

I've always done my own. After being discharged from the army, I needed a job, so I went to work for H&R Block for a year. Ever since then, I've kept up on all the new laws and have been doing mine as well as a few of our friend's taxes. It's a rewarding challenge for me. Even though its not always rewarding in the refund department. This year should be pretty good though after the last two of paying multiple thousands of dollars.
