Indeed...a BEEEE-UTE-EFUL car, we've got 3 of them on the WMAT PD Force, let's say, a *gentle touch* to the accelerator and hold on to what the Good Lord gave ya, you'll be pullin' 5 g's in 10 seconds flat  although our SAR buggy the P.D. gave us for our SAR missions does pretty well too! (see the photo in the gallery)

A classic 1949 Buick Roadmaster with "Dyna-Flow" (first automatic transmission on a commercially-offered vehicle) and "cruiserline ventiports"; those "exhaust holes" that defined Buicks for almost 40 years.

Now, THAT'S a car...leg room galore, rides like a BeautyRest on wheels, and can run over "Jap crap" like they were tomato cans on the asphalt.

It's also coppertop's dream to find an old body and chassis, and have one rebuilt to factory showroom specs.

1968-1970 Chevy Chevelle. Oh, the days of the muscle car. What great memories I had in my '70 Chevelle.

My other choices would be either a 1980 "T"-top white GM Berlinetta, or a 1965 tudor red-metal-flake Dodge Polara. Showroom condition, of course!

Ferrari Beats Jet Plane In 600-Yard Race

POSTED: 3:25 p.m. EST December 12, 2003

GROSSETO, Italy -- In a race between a Ferrari and a fighter jet, score one for the Ferrari.

But score two for the jet.

Formula One champion driver Michael Schumacher's Ferrari was a hair faster than a Eurofighter Typhoon jet on a runway in Italy Thursday -- at least in the first race.

The Ferrari edged out the plane in the 600-yard race. The plane then easily won at 1,200 and 900 yards in the drag races.

The plane had to stay on the ground for the length of the race, but then it took off.

The Eurofighter's top speed when airborne is listed at more than 1,500 mph. The Ferrari's limit is 229 mph hour.

The races between the jet and the car were part of a show organized by the Italian defense department and hailed as a demonstration of Italian industry

I'm REALLY not a car person, I'm more into pickups, let's say a 2004 Dodge 2500 Quad Cab, Cummins Turbo Diesel, 4x4, Maroon in color! I like the feel of Cummins Turbo!
