DALLAS, Texas -- A destructive, fast-moving house fire killed three young children Tuesday evening.
The fire swept through a house on the 500 block of Helena Avenue. Firefighters said when they got there around 7:30 p.m., the house was completely engulfed in flames. They said people were running in and out trying to save the four children -- two 3-year-olds, a 4-year-old and a 5-month-old -- inside the house.
Fire officials said the one-story home burned quickly. The fire may have started in the back of the house, where four children were. Three of the children didn't make it out alive. Other victims were taken to Parkland Hospital and Baylor Medical Center.
Officials were still investigating the fire Tuesday night and didn't know the cause.
