Pickup truck leads Dallas-area police on chase

DALLAS, Texas (The Dallas Morning News/AP) - A police chase involving a black pickup truck kept officers in the Dallas area busy for more than an hour on Tuesday.

A dozen patrol cars from Dallas-area police agencies pursued the truck after it took off from what had been a routine traffic stop in Irving.

The chase twisted through and around Dallas' freeway system for more than an hour before police blocked the truck on a back street just north of downtown around midday. Two people were pulled from the truck, put on the pavement, cuffed and taken away.

Broadcast reports say the truck had struck two cars early on in the chase, but no injuries have been reported.
