Will President Bush announce the goal of landing on the moon again soon??.. I love NASA but it seems to be an agency without a real defined mission. Setting a goal for a trip back to the moon with a possible mars mission in the future would at least give NASA some direction.. Of course, its doubtful the funding would be found for this anytime soon:):)

I would like to see us try and go back to the moon, I just think there's so much going on right now that the money is simply not there...especially after Columbia...

PTracker - I agree. But I am sure we will go back to the moon, hopefully within the next 10 years.

If the finding of Lunar Prospector verifies and there is indeed water on the moon, that would greatly help the cause for going back, as that could be a valuable fuel source that could be mined without being encumbered by earth's gravity (you wouldn't have to bring it all from earth).

We need to go back to the moon, if we as a human race ever want to explore space and it's unknown then the moon would be a good start. Put some kind of base on it with a telescope or something. We need to build the kind of craft to go between here and the moon on a monthly bases.
NASA needs to be a private funded business or pare up with someone like Microsoft or IBM to help funding.
