PYONGYANG, North Korea (CNN) -- North Korea warned Sunday that if the United States ignites a war on the Korean peninsula, the world "will suffer horrifying nuclear disasters," according to a newspaper article released by Pyongyang's Korean Central News Agency.
The article in Rodong Sinmun also said the U.S. is "pushing ahead with nuclear war preparations in full swing on the Korean peninsula," according to the news agency.

:o I really think that NK is much more of a threat now than Iraq ever was.

The US is always ready for a nuclear war. That is the very premise of a nuclear deterrence. Our soldiers, sailors, and airmen train year round for this potential. The very fact that we have the best equipped and trained military in the world is what helps prevent wars. So far the only ones who have been threatening on the Korean pennisula is North Korea.
I would like to remind people that what started this was North Korea admitting that they had been pursueing a nuclear weapons program in defiance of their own treaty with the international community.
Also feel N Korea is the real threat

As I've said for a while, IMO, N Korea is the real threat to the USA. What we need to confirm is whether or not the reports about N Korea having ballistic missles capable of reaching the USA are true or not. If they are, then the dynamic of the crisis changes considerably

It seems that NKorea is doing this in order to get something from us. I don't think that NKorea really wants to destroy us because we have something that they want. Ballistic missles with n-warheads are a familiar threat. We lived with that threat for decades from the USSR. Deterance worked. One thing about ballistic missles is that there's no doubt where it came from. The satellites can detect a ballistic missile as soon as it launches. We may have the capability to shoot it down. Bush should say "OK NKorea, you have 2 n-bombs. We have 20,000. You fire a missle at us, and we'll reply with 100." End of discussion.
The thing about Iraq/Al Qeada/et al is that they are among us and they are committed to destroying us. They don't want anything from us. An attack could happen with no warning, and we don't know where it came from and how to respond. The whole situation is murky with no clear difference between friends and foes. This is a non-traditional type of war and it's unfamiliar to us. Hence its more of a threat.

Don't mean to turn this into a religious thread BUT......it's been written, "What are the signs of your second coming?" "There will be wars, rumors of wars!"
I know one thing for sure, "we have our house in order!" Is yours, do you know where your peace lays?"

I know we are ready for a nuclear war, well as ready as anyone can be, but
If it ever happened there would be no winners. :o I honestly hope that we do something to stop NK from starting WW3. I think NK is a bigger threat than Iraq at least thats the way it seems..

Pray..Pray..Pray..thats all we can do.

If North Korea were to launch a nuclear strike they would quickly become the world's largest glass factory. They know that as well. What they want is to have their nukes and oil. You don't appease a child throwing a tantrum nor do you shoot him. The best thing we can do in this situation is nothing.

I'm not too worried about the Apocalypse within my lifetime...all the "pieces" are not yet in place. Explanation available by E-mail, if interested.
